Review:James Cameron’s Avatar

If there is one movie to see this year, then Avatar is it. Filled with action, suspense, romance and intrigue, director James Cameron has proven his cinematic genius to the world once again.

With three games left in the regular season, the Pioneers 13^th ranked men’s basketball team, according to d3hoops.com, remains focused on their main goal, winning a championship. With a record of 21-1, the Pioneers have clinched the New Jersey Athletic Conference’s top seed, along with a first-round bye for the Feb. 20 games. The Pioneers, 10-0 in the NJAC, are the only undefeated team in conference play. However with all these accomplishments, including a 19 game win streak, the team isn’t satisfied just yet.

Solar Panels on Campus

What many students may not know is that William Paterson University is an eco-friendly campus. This month, the university is expecting to start the installation of a solar energy facility all over campus. When completed, the system will be 3.5 megawatts, making it the largest photovoltaic installation in New Jersey and the largest of its kind on any university campus.

That night, she found out she was four-to-six weeks pregnant. “I’m so scared,” she said, “How am I going to deal with school, work, and a baby?”

Students Continue to Protest Budget Cuts

The efforts of William Paterson University students to fight New Jersey’s budget cuts have gone from the Student Center, to the halls of the Trenton Statehouse, and finally, to Jersey City. However, it has yet to be determined how these efforts will pay off. “It’s a big fight. It’s very difficult. But at least they are being forced to hear us,” said Jessica Pepe, Student Government Association president and a junior at WPU.

No Doubt: Back and Touring with New Material

It was the summer of '95— the year I watched MTV for the first time. Keep in mind, this was when the music video ruled and the closest thing to "reality television" was Matt Pinfield's "120 Minutes." This moment would be pertinent in my childhood and eventually in my future pursuing music journalism as a career. However, one day I saw a slender platinum-blonde sporting fire engine red lipstick and a bindi wail into a camera; this was the moment that would completely change my idea of music.

Sneakers are for more than just sports these days. Many William Paterson students can agree that sneakers are among the latest in fashion trends. Jacinta Calzada, a senior at WPU, has worked at her father’s sneaker store, Carlos’ Sneaker Zoo in Paterson, and can attest.
