In 1936, Life Magazine estimated that the tattooed percentage of the population was at only six percent. In 2006, a Pew Research poll concluded that 36 percent of tattooed people between 18 and 25 had at least one tattoo. Between 26 and 40, the number of people tattooed was 40 percent.
