William Paterson University's website has a brand new design for its WP-connect page. Email notifications informed students and faculty of the change that took place on Oct. 21.

Students were welcomed with a modern design site, featuring bigger and bolder lettering, along with new and easy to read clickable links.  All prior functions of the page remained intact.

"I like the changes they made," said Mike Preciado, junior.  "I think it will resonate with a lot of the freshman students; make them want to stay at the school rather than transferring elsewhere."

Although the website's appearance was the main focus, the changes also included interesting and helpful features.

A new help section on the bottom of the page offers useful tips and information to students.  These tips come in the form of "Did you know?" questions. Some of the tips include how to receive text message notifications for important issue on campus, how to set up your WPU email on your smartphone, and how you can check a computer lab's availability on campus.

"They're all things I didn't know I could do," said Jennyfer Scherrer, sophomore.  "I had no idea I could set up my WPU email to my phone."

Security is also being enhanced with the new look of the site.  Students who use their 855 ID number as a password to login will have the option to change it every time they login.  This requirement promises the potential to introduce new online applications for students.

In the coming months the school will continue to add to the visuals of the site as well as add more content, information, and increase functionality all around.
