Every once in a while, a movie comes along from under the radar that seems to impress the public. I'm happy to say that "Charlie Bartlett" is one of those movies. If most of you don't know about this movie, I'm not surprised. It hasn't been very well advertised and the scope of its release hasn't been that stellar. With that said, I'm sure that those who saw this movie are glad they did.

"Charlie Bartlett" features Anton Yelchin, who plays a troubled 17-year-old boy who has been expelled from every private school he attended. Not knowing what else to do, Bartlett's mother enrolls him in a public school, and immediately Bartlett tries to find a place for himself in the school's hierarchy.

In an unexpected turn of events, Bartlett finds himself offering psychiatric services in one of the boys' school bathrooms, and soon is prescribing medication to his "clients." Without divulging too many of the details, Bartlett finds out what it means to be popular and how one should act with that responsibility.

"Charlie Bartlett," offers enough laughs to keep things light, but at the same time enough drama to make the audience feel actual sympathy for the character. "Charlie Bartlett" might not go down as one of the "hit movies" of 2008, but I assure you, if you aren't able to see this movie, you will be missing out on what is sure to be one of the feel good comedies of 2008.
